WOLI AGBA, DELE OMO WOLI THREATEN LEGAL ACTION OVER ALLEGATIONS LINKING THEM TO TOLUWANISINGS' DEATH
Gospel entertainers warn social media users against circulating what their lawyers describe as false and defamatory claims.
Popular Nigerian gospel entertainers and comedians, Ayobami Ajewole, widely known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, popularly called Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals circulating allegations linking them to the death of gospel minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.
The entertainers issued the warning through their legal representatives, Gemgold Solicitors, following the circulation of controversial claims on social media.
According to reports published on October 26, 2026, the lawyers described the allegations against their clients as false, baseless and malicious, warning that those responsible for creating or spreading such claims could face legal consequences.
Lawyers Warn Against Spreading Allegations
In a public notice dated October 23, 2026, the solicitors stated that their clients were concerned about online publications and broadcasts allegedly intended to damage their reputations.
The lawyers maintained that the entertainers had no involvement in the death of Toluwanisings and rejected the allegations being circulated against them.
They also warned that legal responsibility could extend beyond the original publishers to individuals who knowingly repost, forward or amplify defamatory material.
Woli Agba Shares Legal Notice
Woli Agba reportedly brought the development to public attention through a notice shared on his Instagram page.
The legal representatives urged social media users, bloggers and other media platforms to stop circulating the disputed allegations and remove previously published defamatory content.
They further warned that continued circulation could result in legal action, including claims for damages and court orders restraining further publication.
Background to the Controversy
The development follows the death of gospel minister Toluwanisings, which generated considerable discussion within Nigeria's gospel entertainment community.
Following his passing, several claims and counterclaims emerged on social media concerning the circumstances surrounding his death.
The controversy subsequently drew reactions from other gospel personalities, including Tope Alabi, who also issued a legal warning against the circulation of allegations linking her to the singer's death.
A Call for Responsible Social Media Use
The development has renewed conversations about responsible communication, particularly within Nigeria's gospel entertainment industry.
While social media provides a platform for public discussion, the circulation of unverified allegations can have serious consequences for individuals and their reputations.
For now, the legal warning issued by Woli Agba and Dele Omo Woli represents their response to the allegations. The reports do not establish that a lawsuit has already been filed against any particular individual.
Gospel entertainment followers will be watching to see whether the controversy leads to further legal developments.
